Pensar acerca de la violencia

Abstract

This work starts with a brief review of the problem of violence in our country since 1994 and the way I've been thinking about it out different moments and from different perspectives. I end arbitrarily (end 1995) with a case of criminal violence with the multiple murder committed by a police- man in the subway station called La Raza in Mexico City. This case is used as an example to analyze the different discursive productions that weave together around it. It includes narrations, testimonies, histories, descriptions, explanations or pseudo-explanations, al1 of them of different origin. The necessary to acknowledge the complexity of the framework and to put aside the simplistic proposals that contribute to deform and hide the multiple determinations of the facts; are our objectives.
