Marguerite Duras o la escritura sobre el goce y la mirada. El homenaje de Lacan

Abstract

Through the novel The Ravishing of Lol V. Stein by Marguerite Duras, J. Lacan finds a narrative, from the field of literature, that allows him to show the process by which the protagonist is submerged in an existential void, unties herself from the signifying chain, and plunges into a deadly jouissance. Lacan, fascinated by Duras’ writing, dedicated a commentary to her in the Seminar Crucial Problems of Psychoanalysis in the same year in which the novel was published, and wrote a tribute, which is the subject of a commentary here. Firstly, a brief biography of both, the autor and the work itself is presented.
