Abstract

The focus of this article is the relationship between creation and social bond from the analysis of Franz Kafka’s Letter to his father. The analysis is approached from the notion of posterity in Freud, which being interpreted from the analytical re-elaboration perspective understood as rewriting, allowing us to understand Kafka’s literary creation from the notion of différance in Derrida. This enables us to understand how it is that Kafka’s vital dilema, shown in the letter, expressed by the paradox that what he sees as his own failure to life, namely, his incapacity to construct the social bond that he himself regards as fundamental, the marriage, is at the same time what enables his salvation and healing through his writing, since this activity would imply the renunciation of marriage.
