Abstract

The article attempts to clarify some conditions for intervention that can enable political action. In order to do this, the importance of dealing with the matter of intervention as action by professionals in the social arena is discussed. Intervention is proposed as deliberate and reflexive professional practice, meaning work towards autonomous action in the social field. Inquiry, listening, meaning and the act of speaking together, collectively, are conditions. Some thoughts and questions are introduced for each of these, but the political driving force is seen to be what ultimate y lends meaning to any intervention.
