Abstract

This study analyzes and compares the misogynous and fundamentalist discourse between religious men of the 17th century, in the Mexico City and present followers of the opusdeism. The analysis of similarities of both fines of thinking derives: /) from the ideas related to the construction of a women convent in México City during the 17th century exposed by Fernando Benitez in his book Los demonios en el convento, 2) from the recent play of Jesusa Rodríguez about this historic episode.
