Abstract

Naturalist theater makes representation vanish. and makes imaginary constructions unreal when it intends to naturalize them. Dramatic conflict is the norm of convergence; to eliminate that which is divergent is a must. When setting the scene and embodying the binary representation of gender: man-subject / woman-object, of desire, the actress extends the representation of Woman as a symbolic absence and as its ontologic guarantee. Naturalist theatre drowns imagination in a cauldron of true images.
