Abstract

This paper aims to dialogue with the intersectionality that crosses the Cis and Trans women of the third age who practice sex work in the streets of Mexico City. To do this, I use the data constructed through participant observation during my fieldwork. These data are part of my ethnographic research as a doctoral student in Social Anthropology. Through fieldwork
I have identified the social discomforts that these women experience in their old age as sex workers. Throughout their lives, these women have been subjected to multiple forms of violence by family members, authorities, governmental institutions, and criminal organizations. Their old age is a glimpse of the lack of opportunities to which they were subjected throughout their lives, even before engaging in sex work. I omitted the exact place where I do my research, this to avoid my informants being singled out and harassed. I also modified their names in order to protect their integrity.
