EspañolAbstract
Construction of masculine identities and their implications in the bodies of older adult Mexican men with migratory experience to the United States, after several years and even decades who are aged returned to their homes and birthplaces, are explored in this article. Experiences, meanings, and life experiences of being an undocumented migrant were retrieved from the qualitative methodology, the gerontological narrative, and a biographical-narrative method. Among the results, the relationship between male gender learning and wear and tear on the body seen as a machine to materialize the American Dream was stood out. However, the impacts on physical and mental health throughout their migrant life trajectories are irrefutably related to the precarious conditions at work, the lack of medical security, and self-care.
