Entre la desesperación y la esperanza: el paciente psicótico en México

Abstract

Mental health in Mexico usually, is for those who decided to work in the clinical field, a very difficult world to face when there is no institutional support or a multidisciplinary group in which rely to work with.
Epidemiological cost-benefit and socio-economic studies of mental health grow every year, however the results in the clinic are not what is expected for these patients, the challenge with the treatment of patients diagnosed with psychosis is even greater. What is the hope in the clinical field for the psychotic patient, for those who work with them and for their relatives? This is a critical work that aims to show the situation of the patient diagnosed with some psychotic disorder in Mexico, the clinical approaches that had been implemented and the bet for a different clinic proposal, the therapeutic companion, as a necessary figure to potentiate the quality of life of the patients and their social environment as well.
