Abstract

Passions’ topic has a main place in the psychoanalysis speech. In Freud’s work, it was addressed through his inquiry of love life and its avatars. Love and hate are constantly present in the life of subjects, and the psychoanalysis creator doesn´t stop working their relationship with sexuality and death.
To Freud, a fundamental reference to the passions’ analysis were different literary texts. Its reading, allowed him a detailed inquiry of its ways to be present and its effects. Literature has approached passions trough fictions of infinity of authors, and here are taken some narrations of the viennese writer Stefan Zweig, which contain an important teaching about that.
Besides reading this author, other philosophy references can be found in Aristotle, Descartes, Pascal, Nietzsche, and Heidegger, the reflection can be enriched in order to show, as Lacan did, the ignorance as essential in passions.
