Abstract

This article aims to provide tools to address the complexity of the migration phenomenon from a perspective that assumes the challenge that comes with the issue of otherness. We will try to problematize the drift that happened to the crisis of referents of the second half of the twentieth century in the West, which ended up essentializing the identity based on a rhetoric of difference, hiddenly inspired by the guilt of Westerners. To hide otherness by way of institutional repetition in the academic world inevitably leads to determinism or neo-essentialist versions born of the criticism of Western metaphysics. In this transit we want to claim the political relevance of psychoanalysis as philosophical anthropology and as an “impossible profession” in the sense of the project of the autonomous society, as presented by Castoriadis.
