Abstract

The absence of the subjective dimension in its articulation with the social, in the field of mental health, often ignores the social production of mental illness in the subject. In addition, inappropriate treatments isolate and segregate the mental disease patient as the highest expectation of healing, rather than promoting the possibility of being sustained in their life together with others. This paper is related to the “anti-psychiatry” movement, with an emphasis on the transcendent experience of the institutional psychotherapy clinic “La Borde”, founded by Jean Oury and Félix Guattari, who, along with other psychiatrists of the “Alternative Psychiatry Movement”, have fought for the transformation of psychiatric institutions among others attending psychosis and narcissistic problems which are today in increase.
