La salud mental como dispositivo biopolítico

Abstract

The discourse of the mental health has been one of the dispositives that since the conformation of the modern world has served for the exercise of domination. Through it have been built the parameters of normal behavior, the healthy and the courteous. Parameters under the command of rational and scientific discourse have hidden their uses for the control of all those features which can not be regularized and homogenized. Given this, any type of intensity or potential that does not match with the features of the capitalist functionality is turned into some kind of deficit, disorder or lack that must be rectify. This article problematizes and discusses the politics implications of mental health’s dispositive in the exercise of domination; this analysis is realized in biopolitics key.
