Abstract

This paper presents an anthropological perspective to the study of memory and consider adopting categories such as protomemory, proper memory and metamemory from Joël Candau. It seeks to test the hypothesis that memory is constructed according to the degree of autonomy of individuals from a fully heteronomic start. We propose the use of the concepts first memory and second memory to refer to before and after the question of the redefinition of experience individually and collectively. Also depends then on the identity of individuals. Autonomy and second memories are gradual and endless processes, they also are collective and, therefore, political, mainly in the dialogue and the encounter. Corresponding to the second memory is linked political action, the study of the imaginación autoinstituyente and the democracy as a “germ”, ideas from C. Castoriadis. The idea of “acts of memory” and “action” from C. Pernasetti and the link between H. Arendt “memory, ethics and responsibility” and the writings of H. Schmucler.
