Abstract

The notion of community causes multiple reflections and debates wich result from a fast change in our time in the ways in wich sociability occurs, and in collective processes and identities. We face the need to examine the experience of being with others from different angles, in identity and in difference. In this paper, the approach to the issue of community relates to an understanding of storytelling as a way in wich experience can, as Walter Benjamin says, communicate, become common. Here, I attempt to embroider on that slippage of meaning pointed out by Jean-Luc Nancy between the idea of community and that of communication as a a way to examine the connections between saying and being, and between discourse and action as subjetive potentialities
