Abstract

Background on the clinic and hospitals (Foucault, 1978) are a strong foundation of what is happening today, but today, in an amplified way. One of the differences we might find is that with technological advances, patients last longer, but at a higher cost to the patient, and not necessarily prevent his death. Often the extension of time is inhumane. Curiously we could see, on the other hand, the fragmentation of modern medicine, a “super-specialization” of doctors, in which with all and technological advances, a medic must be abstracted from that are in front, a person, should not think either its age nor in form of being, much less its mental suffering, that is beyond the study of disease. The emotions –affective– do not count, could not count because current doctors, most of them, do not know, do not want to know anything about the psychological suffering of patients.
