Abstract

The goal of this paper is to make a distinction between the relationships that ethics has with natural sciences on one hand, and with psychoanalysis on the other. The points these relationships have in common are analyzed first, then the differences between them. In the subject’s capacity of self-reflection lies a way to establish the differences. It is noted that the purpose of making conceptual distinctions is not equivalent to establishing a dichotomy. Particularities of self-reflection in psychoanalysis are analyzed in order to specify the differences between the aforesaid relationships.
