Abstract

The Narcissos’ myth has uncertain origins. Hermeneutics helps a review of the approaches of the mental disorder known as narcissistic personality, and also bases the distinction of the elements that allowed its inclusion into the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of mental Disorders of the American Psychiatric Association. In this article the analysis of the old discussion on this subject from the masters of the modern psychology lets the exposition of the main positions at present, especially in the anglosaxon context. This article displays titles on this matter from 1970 to 2005. Focus of hermeneutics and polemology opens new horizons.
