Abstract

The article draws a pathway about how psychoanalysis understands research and its specificities. Then, relationships between psychoanalysis and sciences are analyzed from an epistemic point of view. From a positivist position, psychoanalysis has an ambiguous reputation due to the lack (or we could even say: impossibility?) of empiric proof about its central hypotheses on the other hand, a hermeneutic defense of psychoanalytic method appears; nevertheless it has its own limitations as well, and they are described. But it is significant how cióse some qualitative method as Biographic Methods in Anthropology and Case Study are. This allows us to draw a parallelism between both method and the establishment of some kinds of ideas to do research in psychoanalysis. It is proposed the use of Clinic Case Study in the specific research and psycotherapy of Extreme Traumatization situations (Human Rightsviolations)
