Abstract

This article begins and finishes with some definitions and questions about the intervention practice of social psychologists in the prison institution. Then, the prison origins in the modernity will be developed until the author's considerations about the present mexican prison. For this work, the authors of this paper take three types of discourses: the functionary, the academic and the women in jail discourse, with whom the authors has been working during more than two years. The article finishes, as it is announced, with a reflection about the intervention sense, so that it can be produced other research works that may help thinking about the meaning of intervention among a social space like the prison institution.
