Abstract

This is a study with midwives from Sierra Norte de Puebla. The cultural, social and personal meanings of midwives' activities are analyzed in this article, as well as the factors and processes which constitute themselves as a community healers. In this research, we used a qualitative methodology as well as in-depth interviews and participant observation.
