Abstract

In relation to the actual crisis of values that usually is awarded to young people, and as we adults use to project on them uncertainty, frustration, disenchantment, we ask ourselves: What happens with the adult generation regarding values?; which are the values involved in familiar links, what place do they have, and what happens with their transmission, their intersubjective communication, with the changes society and family are carrying on in this postmodern culture? We analyze the word (and thus what is said and not-said) by Montevidean (Uruguay) adolescents in ages between 15 and 19 years old. Difficulties for historizing and the identification process are taken in consideration. We do not sustain and apocalyptic vision: probably what is changing is the way values appear and their expression. Something hard to accept for us adults as narcissism is involved, because it is hard to accept differences.
