Del manicomio a los programas de rehabilitación y soporte social en Leganés (Madrid)
Abstract
Within the framework of psychiatric reform in Spain, and after 11 years of this reform, the National Psychiatric Hospital in Leganes has given way to the substitution of asylum attention to a wide network of services and benefits -free of cost, universal and accessible- which services the metropolitan south of the Madrid region. This article describes de rehabilitation and community support program-one of the services restructuring process' key programs-, its principles, development and difficulties. Among the latter is the persistence, even through in small numbers, of those patients that are resistant to rehabilitation, and the necessity to introduce subjective life quality criteria in the actings.
