Entre infancias y niñeces: mirada sociohistórica sobre su construcción y atenciones institucionales

Abstract

In Mexico and Latin America, studies on children are currently multiplying, social and university spaces for discussion are expanding beyond political junctures or funding agencies’ agendas, and research is no longer only done on and for children, now it is about researching with and from the perspectives of children, since they are recognized as subjects and social subjects with specific human rights. This essay deals with these transitions, complexities, tensions and vicissitudes at the turn of the century. It is also a journey through other childhoods, less visible, some more vulnerable or whose experiences are not well recognized, but whose debates on their particular conditions have influenced the ways of conceiving childhoods, in addition to placing critical elements on how they have been intervened from situated experiences.
