La mímesis de los afectos en la política. Tres reflexiones desde el spinozismo contemporáneo

Abstract

The mimetic mechanism of affects is addressed by Spinoza in a series of propositions, from 16 to 35 of the third part of his Ethics. Some authors, within the framework of the affective turn, have revisited this passage. The purpose of this article is to analyze three contemporary interpretations that utilize the imitatio affectuum to explore political issues. From Frédéric Lordon’s structuralism of passions, we examine how the mimesis of affects is present in mechanisms of subordination to capitalist domination relationships; from Chantal Mouffe, we highlight the importance of the affective dimension in the identification and construction of collective subjectivities; finally, we recover from philosopher Diego Tatián the topic of the mimetism of hatred and disgust to reflect on how figures of exclusion are constructed in the collective imagination.
