Afirmación de la vida frente a la vigilancia estatal en el paradigma sociopolítico actual en México

Abstract

This article specifically examines the section of the “iniciativa de Ley General de Desaparición Forzada” that establishes the collection and management of biometric data, analyzing its potential for instrumenta­lization as a mechanism to implement mass surveillance systems under the pretext of emergency. Through an analysis of the legislative discourse and the proposed technical architecture, we can understand how the rhetoric of “affirming life” can function as an emotional device to neutralize questions about controversial aspects of the law initiative proyect.

The analysis highlights the potential biocultural impact through a concrete example: the Wixaritari (Huichol) community. For them, ­ identity and resistance to political systems spring from the heart of the ­ territory they safeguard, where the imposition of standardized biometric systems threatens these roots, as it renders invisible their ancestral ways of identifying themselves and relating to the land, where the ­ balance ­ between life, culture, and nature sustains their identity, cultural, economic, and political existence. This paper invites reflection on how the affirmation of life, understood responsibly rather than as a mere trend, constitutes alternative epistemic frameworks with transformative potential. The conclusions suggest that a true affirmation of life requires questioning the structures that generate disappearances, instead of normalizing surveillance as a response to suffering.
